Description

Bishop Mays Inc. is looking to hire a skid steer/CTL/mini excavator operator. Job functions include grading for and backing curb, grading subgrade for asphalt paving, backfilling buildings, and placement and set up of stone base. Applicants must be dependable, drug free, hard working, ready to learn, and have a good attitude. This is a full time position, typically working a Monday-Friday work week. Competitive pay based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Safe and efficient operation of mini excavator and skid steer/CTL to meet production goals
  • Must be able to fine grade to within +/- 0.1 feet
  • Perform routine inspections, safety walk-arounds, and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
  • Observe hand signals, grade stakes, or other markings when operating machines so that work can be performed to specifications
  • Receive written or oral instructions regarding material movement or excavation
  • May perform other related duties as assigned and operate various other equipment
  • Full-time, Monday – Friday

Requirements:

  • Good attitude, reliable, and self-motivating to produce results in a safe manner
  • Proficient skills and experience required; must understand earthmoving from rough grading to finish grading
  • Must have at least two years of experience operating excavator
  • Knowledge of civil drawings a plus
  • Drug-free
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Legally eligible to work in the US
  • Must be accountable for conduct and have excellent attendance
  • Capable of working at a sustained pace and produce quality work

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions
  • Frequently lift 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to climb in and out of equipment unassisted
  • Must be able to stand, walk on uneven surfaces, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull
