The CDL Driver responsibilities include safely and efficiently loading and unloading materials and equipment, and adhere to all company policies and MSHA regulations while meeting all production goals.


·       Must have Class A CDL w/Hazmat, tanker, doubles / triples endorsements

·       At least 3 years of experience

·       Added job tasks:

o   Order State and local transport permits

o   Maintain federal log requirements

Main Activities

·       Drives truck to transport material and equipment to and from specified destinations in a safe and efficient way

·       Load and unload trucks

·       Verify load against shipping papers

·       Perform daily safety and maintenance checks

·       Cleans and maintain truck’s equipment and supplies to assure road worthiness

·       Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored

·       Participate in routine maintenance

·       Practice workplace safety

·       Light labor, various yard duties



The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas or be willing to learn:

·       Knowledge of lowboy operation, maintenance and storage

·       Equipment safety

·       Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures

·       Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures


The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills:

Physical Demands

The driver will have to work in all weather, and must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold. The driver must ensure that all activities are completed in a safe and efficient way.

Environmental Conditions

The driver must work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat.

Sensory Demands

He/she may at times be exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substances and must take necessary

precautions to protect eyes, nose and skin from irritation and infection.

Mental Demands

The driver must work independently and is expected to maintain a schedule of work. Any problems or inconveniences may result in increased stress to complete tasks in a limited time.

Time Demands

There are many scenarios that require equipment to be moved on short notice. This may at times require starting work earlier or working later than would be considered normal work hours but still keeping within the laws governing such movement.

Due to requirements of the different jobs there may be times when working on Saturday is required.
