Heavy Equipment Service Technician Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated Mechanic to help provide customers with exceptional experiences. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic who flourishes in a fast-paced and professional workplace. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will perform repairs and or rebuild service on Komatsu and other brands of heavy equipment engines, so you should have strong diagnostic and repair skills. Duties will include working on your own out-of-field service truck and performing service on Komatsu and other brands of heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic breakdowns on heavy equipment.
  • Create a job plan based on diagnosis to include repair operations and anticipated repair hours need to complete repair.
  • Prepare inspection, RCFA, troubleshooting, and teardown reports.
  • Organize, clean, and maintain a safe work area.
  • Communicate effectively with Service Planner and Supervisors to ensure problems, nature of the repair, and status of those repairs are understood and followed up on in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction.
  • Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures.
  • Any other duties as outlined by the Service Supervisor and/or management.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of previous dealership experience
  • Qualified candidates must have 3+ years of successful hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and diagnostics and be very experienced with the
  • latest electronically controlled machines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work independently in performing repairs and maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electronics
  • Team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer and service team
  • Self-motivated and professional
  • Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screening
