Claims Administrator Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Claims Administrator to perform general administrative functions with a focus on overseeing the processing and filing of insurance claims. This position will work closely with the insurance company to ensure a timely resolution of claims as well as a timely reporting of any information that arises in the claim investigation. In addition to claims, this position will assist with Safety related record keeping as well as maintaining the log of Tennessee One Calls (811) records.  Job responsibilities may also include various other duties determined by management. Must be well organized, detail oriented and exercise confidentiality.

  • File insurance claims including auto, equipment, general liability, and workers comp. Follow up on claims and remain in contact with insurance company and claimant for successful resolution.
  • Maintain documentation of the organization’s safety procedures, accidents, and related events for reporting and record keeping purposes.
  • Act as a liaison between management and external safety agencies, such as Tennessee One Call, Axiom, Workers Compensation, and other insurance personnel.
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents and injuries.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of safety plans while ensuring they are being followed.
  • Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
  • Participate in Safety Meetings as scheduled.
  • Maintain Tennessee One Calls by creating new tickets and updating or removing tickets as necessary.
  • Maintain OSHA Log
  • Other duties as assigned by the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager.


  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum 1 year of office or related experience, experience in claims management or related experience preferred
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience working in a construction environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products and auditor safety software, preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Understanding of federal, state and city safety requirements, including OSHA & 811.
