Meet Paul Farless, President/CEO

Plans and directs organization’s operational policies, objectives, initiatives. Responsible for the attainment of short- and long-term financial and operational goals. He directs the development of the organization to ensure future growth. Paul participates in any required constructability reviews and/or value engineering. Oversees the progress of projects; participates in weekly project meetings; visits job sites on a regular basis to evaluate SDV performance and resource needs; resolves high level project issues; and directs service department work.

Paul is a native New Mexican and served 2 enlistments both Active Duty and Reserve as a US Navy SeaBee. He has served the construction industry his entire professional life in many different capacities. This includes holding positions as a Builder in the US Navy and a Journeyman Carpenter as a civilian all the way through field supervision and local and regional management that carried his responsibilities overseas to execute projects in Western Europe.

Project Details:
This project includes the construction of a new multipurpose facility located to the North of the existing St. Joseph’s Church building. The building includes north and south wings that contain 14 multipurpose meeting rooms with glass operable partitions allowing for optimal space utilization; closed for small classrooms or open for large conferences or receptions. The space also includes a vestibule with a reception counter, long corridors with wood ceiling clouds, administrative offices, workrooms, a conference room, and a kitchen. A memorial brick plaza greets students and visitors and a courtyard separates the wings.
St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Nazareth Center
Project Details:
The Valencia Regional Communications Center (VRECC) was created in 2007 and outgrew its space. The nine workstations, equipped with monitors and mapping, needed to expand because of the volume of inbound land line and wireless 911 calls. The new structure is located in Los Lunas, NM and includes a large training room, a 5,336 square foot dispatch area with 13 stations and enough room to add five more stations, a break room, a fitness room, offices, storage rooms, a lobby and a reception area as well as courtyards. Some of the new equipment includes more monitors for GPS monitoring of law enforcement, medical and fire, a new computer-aided dispatch software program and an information lighting system.
Valencia Regional Emergency Communication Center
Project Details:
SDV was contracted as the Owners Representative Construction Manager for the State of New Mexico, New Mexico Spaceport Authority (NMSA), on the $20+ million Phase 2 construction of Spaceport America. In this capacity, SDV provided full-ranging services that include representing and advising NMSA on all aspects (planning, design, construction, occupancy and warranty support) of multiple construction projects that include both vertical and horizontal construction. Additional projects include the Spaceport Operations Center Buildout, a vertical launch pad and a Sprung Armadillo Door Hangar. A 90’x93’ structure with a large door system that allows for an entire end opening.
Spaceport America
Project Details:
This new clinic was constructed to provide 8 Sleep Study rooms for diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders along with additional space for nurse monitoring, staff lounge, reading room, storage, reception and nutrition. This single story building was designed and reinforced to provide for a second story so that it may be expanded vertically. It also includes accommodation for a future elevator and stairway. The scope of work includes site demolition, excavation, utility modifications, site improvements, concrete work, installation of structural steel, masonry, framing, mechanical, electrical and electronic installations, plumbing and finish work.
VA Sleep Disorder Center
Project Details:
This project includes the addition of a housing unit for 24 single cells (48 double cells) with a medical unit that ties in with the existing Adult Detention Center, construction of a new Sally Port and, renovations to the existing facility. SDV was contracted as Curry County’s Consultant/Advisor for the construction and renovation. In that capacity, assisted with the preparation of the contract with the General Contractor and monitored, reviewed, and provided periodic analysis of the project. SDV assisted the contractor in maximizing the operational and financial performance of the project through value engineering. SDV kept the County Manager and Facilities Superintendent informed and briefed on the progress of construction and ensured that the Contractor was in compliance with the plans and specifications.
