About

Starting in 1971, father and son Dick and Scott Nickel opened Carolina Bridge for business. Dick flew P-47 Thunderbolts in WWII and later became the VP of a local bridge builder. When the owner of that business retired, Dick thought he could build bridges himself.

Fast forward to today, and Richard and Dan Nickel, the third generation of bridge builders in their family, lead the business. Over the past four decades and counting, the people of Carolina Bridge have built over 400 bridges in SC and NC.

Carolina Bridge is an incredibly humble group of people who take great pride in the bridges they build. No one’s more important than the others, and the company still runs based on the original values Dick founded the business upon. Opportunity? There’s plenty at Carolina Bridge for the right kind of person.
